How to Make Your Own Colorful DIY Pom Pom Garland

Hey guys! I’m back with another post, where I’ll be showing you guys how to create a pom pom garland, to brighten up any room. In a previous post, I already demonstrated how to create a pom pom, so if you haven’t seen it yet, you can check it out here.

A garland can be the perfect choice of décor from bedrooms to parties, and you can hang them practically anywhere. Fireplaces, walls, stairs, doorways, windows, over furniture, as well as mirrors can all make great spots for your homemade, adorable garland.

Supplies

  • Yarn

  • Scissors

  • Pom poms (made of yarn)

And that’s really it! Nothing more is required. For ideas on where to hang a garland in a house, you can check out this post here

Step 1. Gather the Right Length for the Garland

2

The first step of this project is to unravel the yarn to the desired length of the garland. This is the yarn strand the you’ll attach the pom poms to. I wasn’t sure how long the finished garland would be with all the pom poms attached, so I didn’t cut the strand from the yarn ball until I was done. Take your first pom pom and tie one end of the yarn strand around it, leaving some space from the edge of the garland.

I lined up all my pom poms in a pattern to see what the garland would look like when it was done.

Step 2. Secure the First Pom Pom

3

Double knot and pull tight on the yarn. Keep in mind that the pom pom could shift on the garland depending on which side you’re pulling from.

Step 3. Attach the Second Pom Pom

4

Attach your second pom pom, deciding the distance between each pom pom. Double knot and pull tight.

Step 4. String Them All On

5

Continue with all your other pom poms until you have a finished garland. Remember to keep the space between each garland consistent.

Hang up your garland and enjoy how it brightens up a room. Thank you for checking out my post! Feel free to comment down below if you have any suggestions, questions, answers, or other comments.
